Comments:
Volantis is a fast, elegant, strong & relatively spacious offshore cruising/racing
Tango 32 trimaran designed by Derek Kelsall & built by Keith Burrage, Yealm, England.
She took 2nd overall in both the 1980 & 1981 Crystal Trophy races & 1st overall
& 1st in the cruising class in the 1987 Great Ocean Race. These have been her only
races. Maximum sustained speed to date has been 18 knots. She is a thoroughly ocean tested
multihull, having sailed 20,000 nautical miles & completed an Atlantic crossing. She
has been constantly upgraded by her current owner, who has sailed her on the East Coast.
Volantis would be a good choice for a performance minded sailor looking for a very
attractive ocean-going multihull with seaman-like cruising accomodations.
