Vessel Description

Used for private use only, never chartered, Wind Wing is a great example of a well maintained, lightly used yacht. The current owner bought the yacht from the original owner and over the past seven years has had the vessel professionally maintained.

Each year in early December the owner sails to the Bahamas for 5 months and spends approximately 2 months aboard during that time. In April/May the yacht returns to Fort Lauderdale where it is professionally maintained until the following November/December. During this period, seasonal maintenance is undertaken, engines serviced, sails removed by the sail-maker for any maintenance and
repairs. Rigging is professionally inspected and life-raft is serviced. Additionally, upgrades and improvements are implemented, and any painting or buffing and polishing is undertaken at that time.

Anti-fouling and varnishing is done each November. Through hulls, sea-cocks, and strainers are inspected and serviced and zincs renewed. The boat is in tip-top condition when the owner leaves for his Bahamas sojourn.

Wind Wing is well set up for private use or special charters, family groups, or a luxury charter for a couple wanting to get away in a very special yacht.

For the owner thinking of heading offshore or just cruising locally, Wind Wing is prepared for either short handed or crewed sailing and is enjoyable in either state.

A Survey was conducted 18 months ago for Insurance survey purposes and any recommendations from the Surveyor were completed. This year, in preparation for sale, the same Surveyor undertook a buyers survey on the owner's behalf to make sure that any faults or deficiencies were noted. All such items have been attended to and it is anticipated that the vessel will survey very well.

The Owner has had the boat maintained and upgraded to the best standards and is now considering moving into a larger vessel.

Layout & Accommodations

Wind Wing consists of 4 cabins and 3 heads. She can accommodate 8 people.
  • Starboard hull contains the owner's cabin and en-suite head
  • The centre of the vessel contains the dining salon/lounge and the Nav station/inside helm
  • Forward of the salon on the center line is the fourth double cabin
  • Port hull contains a forward cabin en-suite, midship galley, day head and shower and aft double berth cabin
  • There are watertight bulkheads forward in each hull making 4 seperate compartments total.

Owner's Cabin

This vessel is a one-off custom designed Owner's Version and as such, has a unique layout whereby the starboard hull is dedicated as the Owner's suite. The aft section has a queen-sized berth, hanging locker and dresser. Both opening ports and hatches provide ample ventilation. Moving forward in that hull, there are more lockers, drawers and shelves as well as writing desk and chair. All the way forward is the bathroom with large shower area, toilet and vanity.

This area is particularly well ventilated and finished in an easily maintained gel-coat and paint finish, with teak trim. It is easy to leave hatches partly open when underway to increase the cross ventilation throughout the boat. Any salt spray is easily rinsed off the shower walls.

At the forward end of the bathroom compartment is a water tight bulkhead. This very complete Owner's suite offers total privacy and an expansive area for their use. It is equipped with air-conditioning.

Guest Cabins with En-suite Heads

Within the port hull are two cabins with the galley centrally located between them. The forward cabin contains a queen sized berth with an en-suite bathroom, similar in layout to the one in the owner's cabin with locker and shelving for clothes and personal items. It has its own en-suite bathroom and shower which is laid out identically to the owner's bathroom.

The aft cabin is laid out the same as in the owner's sleeping cabin. There is also a sink and vanity in the cabin itself along with locker and bureau. It is not en-suite but has an adjacent separate bathroom with head and shower. This is the third head or day head.

The fourth sleeping cabin is forward of the main salon and has a double bed, cabinet, vanity and storage.

All cabins have privacy doors, reading lights, fans, port holes, and hatches.

Main Salon

The main salon has seating and dining for 8 around a central table that also enjoys 360 degree views. Double doors to the cockpit make this area very worthwhile if the weather conditions make inside dining the only option for the day. There is a new flat screen TV and a Satellite TV system. It is air-conditioned.

Electronics & Navigation

The Nav station is on the salon level to starboard and is full-sized and fully equipped. The station is also equipped as an inside helm station. With 360 deg all-round vision, it is an ideal location from which to navigate and helm the vessel during inclement weather or when air-conditioned comfort might be favored. There is a Satellite linked e-mail, internet/phone system and full instrumentation and engine controls. It is air-conditioned.

Galley

The galley, down 3 steps from the salon in the port hull, is open to the salon and is spacious, light, and airy. Its location separates the forward and aft cabins in the port hull. Additional refrigerator and freezer spaces were added in 2004 and it is well equipped for either private or charter use. It is air-conditioned.

Cockpit

Leaving the interior and stepping into the cockpit, it becomes obvious why these yachts are so popular. With a large dining table and cockpit seating for a dozen guests, the sheer volume of space makes crowding a word to describe other boats. For day sailing, a dozen people will find plenty of room in the sun or shade to enjoy the day. For longer periods aboard, even with all berths filled, eight people will comfortably enjoy a weekend, or a week, in space generally seen on much large yachts.
