Accommodations Two queen berths with hanging lockers, one in each hull, 2 heads (Blake Lavac toilets) with shower, one in each hull. Whirlpool 4 burner stove top, garbage compactor, dinette seats 8, microwave, fridge, 6.5 Koehler generator; home size kitchen sink with single handle faucet and sprayer. Separate faucet for filtered water. Wet locker, circuit breakers. Chart table big enough to layout full sized charts and chart storage.

Electrical System Dinghy davits, 9' inflatable with 2 hp outboard. Boarding ladder on starboard transom. Transoms have steps. Two Fortress anchors and rodes. Anchor roller and deck cleats. Lewmar 54 electric winch for main. Lewmar 44 for jib; 2 Lewmar 48s for running backs. 6.5 Koehler gasoline generator. Shoreside 110 power. 40hp Honda outboard with Handler Nozzle. Roller furler for gennaker which has its own wire luff. Centerboards rotate up into hulls and can be raised or lowered from helm station area; rudders fold up also.

Hull Construction: Bi-Axial E-Glass-Vinylester with Balatek Balsa Core.

Sails and Rigging Sails are made of Kevlar and Mylar and are in excellent condition. Gennaker has own wire luff and roller furler. Mast is by Sparcraft with rod diamond rigging. There are upper, intermediate and lower shrouds. Running backstays to each hull with Lewmar 48 winches. 4 to one Harken traveler controls. Jib is controlled by one sheet and is on semi-circular track.

Additional Equipment New Raytheon instruments including, depth, speed, AWI and autopilot. Garmin GPS. Instruments and GPS repeater at helm station. New trampoline.

Remarks Boat was designed for speed and it is fast. 80% of true wind on a reach and about 60% upwind. Double digit speeds are easily attainable and maintained for long periods. I got caught by 3 thunderstorms in one afternoon; the lst produce 60 knot winds. The boat handled this better than I. "SLIPSTREAM was designed for Slipstream Yachts whose brief was for near racing catamaran performance in a vessel with comfortable long-range cruising accommodations. There are no mysteries or miracles in boat design, and to keep weight low and the hulls narrow-as required for high performance-sensible compromises had to be made. instead of the three, or even four, double staterooms found in many production 44- to 46-footers, Slipstream has two double cabins, albeit exceptionally comfortable ones. At the same time, the customarily installed twin diesel engines and diesel genset were replaced with a single 4-cycle gas outboard and a lightweight gas generator. The engine and genset alone allowed us to save between one and two tons in overall weight! Performance: The performance numbers for Slipstream are considerably higher than most comparable production sailing cats; she really is a different breed of cat. Indeed--without the genset, and fitted with carbon spars--Morrelli & Melvin, independently calculated Slipstream's PHRF number at -55! Even her standard-rig, cruising trim displacement-length ratio of just 85 is lower than the majority of production cats. Also, her hulls are exceptionally more slender for decreased resistance at speed. Indeed, Slipstream's hulls have a length-to-beam ratio of 14.6:1, far lower than any production cruising cat. At the same time, Slipstream's sail-area-to-displacement ratio of 28 is at the upper end of the spectrum. (These numbers are higher still, stripped for racing and with the carbon rig.) This combination of low displacement, slender hulls and large sail area gives Slipstream less resistance and more power per pound of resistance than found elsewhere." (Slipstream Yachts, Ltd.)
