2002 TRT 1200 CR hull # 11

The TRT 1200 CR cruiser/racer catamaran comes with a bridgedeck cabin with dinette and navigation station, and is ready to sail away, with all hardware, rigging, sails, motor, and fully finished interior including full galley with sink and stove in stern of port hull. This TRT 1200 CR was the 2002 Miami Boat Show Boat, used only for one boat show and occasional demo sails. Replacement cost currently well over $300,000.

The Norwegian-designed TRT 1200 catamaran is a performance-oriented 40-foot offshore catamaran, available in both an open bridgedeck version (TRT 1200 GT) and bridgedeck-cabin version (TRT 1200 CR). Both models offer thrilling performance (20-plus knot speed potential)  without heeling, and substantial accomodations for four or more for an indefinite period. Marius Rosvold's TRT 1200 GT has been racing in Scandinavian waters for the past five seasons and has proven to be a serious performer--equal to or superior than 80-foot maxis when the breeze is up! Windcraft recently joined Marius's crew in the famous overnight Faerder Race in Oslo Fjord and we were stunned at the performance of the TRT. The TRT 1200 GT has an all-up weight of around 3,000 kg, a very light boat for its size. While sailing absolutely level and dry, and making almost no wake, we achieved the fourth fastest average speed around the course out of 1064 racing boats, beaten only by an Open 60 offshore racing trimaran, a 105-foot Super Maxi, and a Formula 28 racing trimaran. The TRT 1200 was faster than one other Formula 28 trimaran, as well as the Whitbread Maxi Ketch New Zealand Endeavour, all the other maxis and both Whitbread 60's.
