COMMENTS:

"Go Anywhere, Any Weather, UNSINKABLE”

Performance, Practicality, Pizzazz

Catcall is extremely efficient to windward and will tack from port to starboard tack within 85 degrees with minimal leeway as she has 20% more lateral plane than the average 50’ racing mono hull. She has comfortably demolished several Swan 57’s to windward under jib alone, which is very rare in multi hulls. Under sail she tacks like a mono hull with a totally neutral helm and fingertip steering due to the balanced speed rudders including downwind speeds to 29 knots- also under fingertip control. This balance also reduces auto pilot loading and consumption to1.5 amp averages. We have run 347 miles in 24 hours and many days over 300. Off the wind in favorable trade winds our average day runs were 230 to 250 miles.

She sailed 12,000 blue water miles and Catcall displayed no vices under all types of weather. 1 or 2 experienced people easily handle her safely.

The bridge deck salon is entered very comfortably with 6’8’ headroom below. Catcall carries a very high bridge deck clearance, which is most important in rough weather.

She has sufficient Bow Angle Buoyancy to sail with Gale conditions astern.

The hulls were constructed at a time when the strength of GPS was unknown. Over engineered, it is guaranteed to have the Strongest and most sea-worthy construction of ANY multi hull afloat. The hulls were fitted out in 1991.

The designers, Robert Harris & Locke Crowther (Lloyds of London Survey) have approved all modifications. All engineering & construction performed under the auspices of Dr. Arthur G. Jansen Dipl. Engineering (Apollo program, Cape Canaveral Florida USA), & owner- Captain.
