LAYOUT & ACCOMMODATIONS:
This vessel was launched in New Zealand in December 2004 and subsequently shipped via Dockwise to Costa Rica, where we took delivery of her on the 4th of March 2005, engine hours therefore are very, very low. Unfortunately the owner's plans have changed hence this, what we believe, unmissable offer.

Her interior is host to a generous salon with quality soft furnishings (leather) and ultra-leather wall linings, a spacious solid maple galley fitted with top quality European appliances: - Bosch - Ceran stove, S/S oven, S/S dishwasher, washing machine, and 2 x Isotherm S/S fridges.

Barracuda’s designer is Tim Barnett. She was designed and built as a serious long range cruiser, NOT as a speedy racer, and at a cruising speed of about 9 knots will have a range in excess of 2500 miles - although her owners have realized speeds of just over 20 knots while on sea trial, this was achieved with the tanks only lightly filled. Don't forget that the vessel is equipped with controllable pitch props, which allow us to get max thrust at low revs, so at 9 knots, which is barely above idle, the fuel economy is great.

ENGINE ROOMS:
This 8.1L, 6-cylinder engine has a low rpm rating that limits vibration and noise. Direct top-liner cooling reduces the temperature by as much as 100° F (38° C) for extended reliability. Optional auxiliary drive can power wash-down pumps, hydraulic oil pumps, or air compressors.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER:
The Managing Director of Barnett Offshore Design Limited, TJF Barnett, holds a diploma in yacht design and is a member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers in USA and a professional member of the Naval Architectural Society of New Zealand. Tim and his wife Susan own the Tortuga Steamship Company which produces the Windhawk 35

Tim Barnett is a New Zealander who studied in the USA and began his design and consulting business in Seattle in 1980. Barnett Offshore Design has been in business for 24 years and during this period has designed and constructed many unique and innovative craft. Vessels that have not only shown themselves to be exceptional in the pleasure and commercial boat market but also in the international patrol boat market. The company had its own construction facility up until 1995 at which point it employed a staff of 22. The company closed its manufacturing business to focus solely on design and consulting.
