Port hull- 3 double berths, head and sink in stateroom. workshop area, chart table, navigation area and instrumentation, electrical distribution panels. 7'x4' sail-gear/dinghy motor locker.
Starboard hull- freezer and refrigerator, galley with 2 burner stove with oven and broiler. 2 compartment SS sink, large counter surface and storage.7' settee/single bunk, dining table with seating for 6.Double bunk, stereo/12 CD changer and amplifier.41 sq ft. pantry, hanging locker, head, sink and large shower.4'x7' anchor, sail, gear locker.
Electronics & Navigation:
Helm area- 4 Brooks and Gatehouse (B&G) instruments-Wind, Data, Network Compass, and Speed-- Digital depth, Alpha 3000 autopilot, VHF, bow thruster controls, Richie compass. Nav. station in port hull-digital depth sounder, VHF, bulkhead Richie compass, Trace C 40 charger/load controller remote, GPS.
Mechanical& Electrical:
Batteries-the house bank consists of 2-4D gel cells, one group 31 and one group 27 gel cells connected with a West Marine battery combiner system. A Heart Freedom 10,inverter-charger, Link 2000 and Trace C40 charger/ load controller for the 8 Siemans Pro Charger 4JF solar panels, located on the 9'x11' pipe top.
Deck & Hulls:
Airex, Divinycell foams, tri-axial E glass, carbon and Kevlar fabrics vaccumm bagged isophalic polyester and epoxy resins comprise the hulls and decks. Exterior paint is Awlgrip cream 1997 and interiors epoxy paint. The decks have non-skid texture. Cockpit seating for 12-15 people. Captains helm chair, remote control for stereo, removable cockpit table seats 6. A stern catwalk 24' wide and stern lifelines afford access to scuba tank and gear locker, fish locker, salt and fresh water wash-down, propane locker. The stern is set up for fishing with 4 rod holders and 2 gimbaled rod holder seats.
Sails & Rig:
The rotating wing mast is an Alcoa extrusion designed by George Thomas. It is set on a Harkin bearing rebuilt 1997 as were the standing rigging, halyards,etc. The main sail is 510 sq ft. fully battened Bierig sail worked on a Lewmar 52 winch. Jib sheets, halyards, reef-lines, etc. are worked on another Lewmar 52 at a central winching station. Daggerboard controls are on a separate Lewmar 40 winch also at the central winching station. The anchor rode can be brought to the central winching station if neccessary. The 1400 sq ft. asymmetrical spinaker 1.5 oz. with an ATM sleeve and a 7' sprit attached to the front crossbeam. Fully battened storm jib is self tending.460 sq ft genoa is on a Harkin rollar reefing system.
Other:
The daggerboard is flush with the hull bottom in the up position and has a 6' depth in the down position. The kick up rudders will reposition if an object is bumped and do not affect steerage while they are up. The 35' CQR is on an anchor davit which is on the forward crossbeam. Also included are a Fortress FX-23, rode and chain is bulkhead mounted in the forward starboard gear locker. Puddy Tat comes with a 11 RIB Avon and 18hp Tohatsu which has a secure mounting bracket in the port forward gear locker. The Avon can be stowed on specially mounted straps over the port trampoline and can be secured in a nest under the bridgedeck. Trampoline replaced in 2000. Both hulls are cooled by a 10,000 BTU AC unit. A Little Wonder Village Marine water maker is located in the port hull and produces 6 GPH. The water can be be transfed to either the port or starboard tanks via a fresh water manifold system.
Comments:
Puddy Tat is a 20 knot+ proven blue-water racer/cruiser affording all the comforts of self-sufficiency. During a 7 week trip to the Bahamas (Spring 2000) the 8 solar panels generated 7,864 amp hours! No generator or shore power was ever needed. Some of her race records include Miami to Key Largo race 2 first place finishes and 1 second. Miami to Lucaya third place. Ft. Lauderdale to Key West 1992, Second in multihull class. Time 16 hr.40 min. Miami to Bimin First boat in the fleet, First in the multihull division and First on handicap. The boat has topped 24 knots offshore as well as in sheltered waters and has crossed the Gulfstream in less than 5 hours on at least 4 occasions. In the 1993 race from Triumph Reef to Bimini , she crossed the Gulfstream(56 miles) in 3.5 hours. As well as racing she has taken several extended cruises to Belize, Bahamas, Mexico and the West Coast of Florida and the Keys. Puddy Tat is a thoroughbred cruiser/ racer awaiting her new owner.
