Serving 2 HULLS
After attending the University of Alabama for three years and finishing with a fourth at the University of Florida, Bill again headed for the water and boats. Bill has either earned his living or spent his time on the water with boats and boating ever since.
Yacht Sales Experience
Bill's experience in yacht sales goes back before the days of licensing as he learned by working for Palm Beach Blue Water Yachts, Weckleman Yacht Sales, and Nautical Pleasures. Then in 1987 Bill became licensed and bonded when he opened William O. Ware Yacht Sales in Key West, thus becoming the only true licensed and bonded Yacht & Ship Broker within 100 miles.
After five years in Key West Bill's interest again turned to Fort Lauderdale, "the yachting capital of the world". Here he was recruited and worked for 2Hulls for five years and Sailaway Yachts for three years. Bill then took off to go sailing for a few years coming back again and working for 2Hulls before becoming Sales Manager of the Americas for New Zealand Yachts. After 9/11 New Zealand Yachts ceased it's separate marketing department and Bill took off sailing and messing about on boats again.
Bill is now proud to be with 2Hulls located at the Isle of Venice in Fort Lauderdale.
Bill's professional experience on boats started out after college when he started to crew on different boats. He has been mate on such diversified large boats as the 97' sailing yacht, "Sea Wolf", then a 90' inter island freighter, which serviced Hispaniola to Nassau. He also crewed on numerous yacht deliveries to and from the islands and North and Central America.
Bill then became a USCG licensed captain and FAA licensed pilot. During those years he delivered many different yachts, both power and sail, in and out of the Caribbean as well as North and Central America. Bill then became full time captain of the very fast 63' catamaran, "Tsje Tsja" for five years, which operated between the Caribbean, the Bahamas, and the United States.
Bill has also been owner and operator of the tug and barge, "Lisbon Lady", the day charter catamaran, "Enterprise", and the water sports concession "Caribbean Water Sports". (The largest in the Keys at the time.)
Bill has also been a Project Manager on several different boats. The most recent was on the 120' Coast Guard certified Wave Piercer, "Fast Cat", located in Puerto Rico.
Bill has also owned many cruising and racing boats, two of which, he salvaged and rebuilt. Bill has taken off cruising twice for two years or more and several times for nine months to a year.
